Soliva is a veteran of the U.S. Army. She credits her commitment to her country to her father, a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran, and the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. She was an eighth grader watching the day unfold on a classroom TV, and the tragedy had a long-lasting impact on her. Her husband is also a veteran who has served as an Army medic.
“Mary Kate’s commitment to her country and all who serve is obvious to everyone she meets,” said Scott Luton, Supply Chain Now Founder & CEO. “She relates so well to her on-air guests, putting them at ease to share their stories and inform her audience. She’s the perfect host for this podcast, especially as we take it to the next level.”
Luton, who is also a veteran, points out that Soliva brings impressive credentials to the growing Supply Chain Now digital content family. She is a doctoral student who is also the president of a student veteran chapter at Saint Leo University. She was recently selected to the prestigious Hoover Institution Veteran Fellowship Program, which invites veterans to make an impact on public policy with actionable solutions. She is active in several veterans’ organizations and continues to serve the military community as an advocate and a mentor.
“I want to amplify the voices of veterans and those in the military and veteran community who are giving back,” said Soliva. “We’ll focus on those inspiring individuals who continue to serve beyond the uniform and have interesting stories to share, from what prompted them to serve, to their transition to civilian life, to the ways many continue to serve through veterans’ organizations and causes.”
